Federal Funding March

CAKE is joining forces with the US Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) for "The Federal Funding March," a nationwide contest among high school and college marching bands. Participating schools are required to submit a video of their marching band performing CAKE’s “Federal Funding March,” inspired by the original "Federal Funding" recording from the band's most recent release,"Showroom of Compassion" and based on CAKE trumpet player Vince DiFiore’s instrumental arrangement.

CAKE has provided a full marching band arrangement and charts of the song to the USSBA for distribution to all interested high schools and colleges at no charge. The winning school, chosen for the creativity and quality of their performance, will be given the opportunity to participate and perform in the music video for "The Federal Funding March," which would be filmed later this year in the winning band's hometown.

"We are seeing far too many music programs cut -- a problem that is going to hurt our communities as much as it will hurt the kids who are growing up without learning to make music. CAKE's decision to do something about it and showcase the cause is a big step forward for all of us. We are proud to be a part of such an inspirational campaign."
